Keeper of the lost cities
A series review By Myra Khanna
Sophie Foster thinks she will never belong because of the telepathy power that she has but that changes when she finds out that she is an elf from the lost cities. She thinks all her troubles will go away but they get much worse when a mysterious rebel group finds out about Sophie's powerful knowledge that would prevent them from taking over the elf world. The black swan, the group that made her, can only help so much. Can Sophie destroy the rebel group before they destroy her? There are currently 9 books released in the series, which go through Sophie's journey top stop the rebel group from causing harm to the lost cities.
I like this book series because it has a lot of adventure but there is also a lot going on that it makes it a little hard to remember. I would have liked if the chapters had titles as I like knowing a teeny tiny bit about what is going to happen versus not knowing what is coming up. That was the ONLY CON I could think of. Now for the pros, I really liked how Sophie and her friends seemed to never win, almost die, but in the end score a pretty big victory. I love how in other book series it is obvious that the main character is on the good side but Sophie finds herself debating on whether the black swan or even the elves are trustworthy or not and therefore keeps the reader in suspense. Lastly, I think it is really cool that Shannon Messenger (the author) made a whole new world with different foods, clothes and lifestyle than those of humans.
I would strongly recommend this series to the fans of Percy Jackson and/or Harry Potter series because they all have new worlds (kind-of), all have magic, Harry potter and keeper of the lost both have some people being downcast for being things that is totally not their fault. I give this book 5 on 5 stars. I hope you read Keeper of the lost cities and enjoy it as much as I did.
